Design note — hero Replaces the current bureaucratic admissions intake page. Headline = career outcome (“Become a Registered Nurse”), not the degree code (“Nursing AS”). Three hard numbers answer the three questions every applicant has: time, cost, payoff. Three distinct CTAs sized to intent: Apply (high), Advisor (medium), Chat (low). Yellow PH tags mark numbers that Broward Institutional Effectiveness should confirm and replace.

Design note — cost block Currently zero pricing exists on the Nursing admissions page — the #1 question is hidden 4 clicks deep in “Paying for College.” This block puts it front and center, breaks it into honest line items, and pairs the sticker price with the financial-aid story so cost doesn’t kill the visit. The “Estimate your cost” button leads to a 3-question Net Price Calculator (federally required, already exists).

Design note — curriculum Currently the curriculum lives only in the College Catalog (catalog.broward.edu) — 3 clicks deep and reads like a registrar’s spreadsheet. This block shows the academic shape of the program on the page where the buying decision happens. Course names should be pulled live from the catalog; clinical-partner names are public and worth featuring.

Design note — schedule Adult learners and career-changers (~60% of CC nursing applicants) have one question: “Can I do this around my job and family?” The current page doesn’t answer it anywhere visible. Showing three concrete schedule options upfront removes the #1 silent objection before they hit the application.
06 · Admissions

Admissions requirements

Nursing is a limited-access program. You’ll apply twice: once to Broward College (open enrollment), then to the Nursing program itself during a specific application window.

Here’s exactly what you need, in scannable form. Most applicants take 1–2 semesters to complete prerequisites before submitting the Nursing application.

1
Broward College student in good standing
Apply first to BC as a Health Science Navigator track if you’re not already enrolled.
2
Prerequisite courses (grade C or higher)
Anatomy & Physiology I+II, Microbiology, English Composition, College Algebra, Psychology. Must be within last 10 years.
3
TEAS exam score
Minimum 58.7% Composite, taken within last 2 years.
4
Current BLS certification
American Heart Association Basic Life Support, valid through program start.
5
Background check + drug screening
Required upon acceptance, before clinical rotations begin.
6
Submit Nursing program application
Open enrollment windows: Spring (Jan), Summer (May), Fall (Aug).
Design note — admissions The current page presents this as a 6-step procedure manual with bureaucratic warnings (“Exceptions to this policy are not permitted”, “CBD/THC will trigger a positive”) in passive voice. This block compresses the same content into a 6-item visual checklist that’s scannable in 20 seconds. Tone is helpful, not adversarial.
M.R.
I started the LPN-to-RN bridge while still working 32 hours a week at Memorial. Two days a week of class, weekend clinicals, and I had a $42/hr RN job lined up before I graduated. Broward made it possible because the schedule actually fit my life.

Are there scholarships specifically for nursing students?
Yes — the Broward College Foundation funds several nursing-specific scholarships including the Sunshine Health Healthcare Scholarship. See nursing scholarships →

Ready to start your RN journey?

Application open through March 15 for the August cohort. Free to apply.

Design note — apply band A final big CTA + deadline urgency at the bottom catches the scrolled-to-end visitor. The “Book an Advisor (15 min)” secondary CTA captures still-on-the-fence visitors — industry data: booked-meeting conversions are 2–3× form-fill conversions because they’re a real commitment.
Proposed redesign · mockup prepared 21 May 2026 · companion to the Broward Conversion Audit. Yellow PH (placeholder) tags mark every number that requires Broward Institutional Effectiveness sign-off before publishing. Most figures already exist in Broward’s IPEDS, Gainful Employment, or ACEN reporting — the work is sourcing internally, not generating new data.
